On the birthday of the Christian Church, the Holy Spirit moved
Peter to say: "Repent and be baptized every one of you, in
the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And
you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for
you and your children." (Acts 2:38-39)
The Holy Spirit had the Apostle Paul add: "You are all
children of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who
were baptized into Christ have been clothed with Christ."
(Galatians 3:26-27)

| It's because baptism grants the gifts of forgiveness, life,
and salvation that we happily carry out baptism. Saint Mark's
would rejoice in baptizing your child or children, too, if you

At the creation of the world, God arranged it that: "A man will leave his father and his mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh" (Genesis 2:24). Upon this our Savior himself commented: "What God has joined together, let man not separate" (Matthew 19:6).
This makes Saint Mark's happy to perform Christian marriages. If you have no other church home, we would be happy to assist you in your wedding, too. For the Lord to lay a proper foundation for your marriage, we have you take our Pre-Marriage classes (the evenings of the Saturdays and Sundays comprising the first and second weekends of February-- or by special appointment, at other times). For the Lord to lay a proper foundation for your life, we have you take our Bible Information classes (an evening per week, beginning in January, May, and September-- or by special appointment, at other times).

"The Holy Scriptures are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God my be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
The above words make the members of Saint Mark's confident that the Lord can solve every person's biggest problem (that of sin)-- and that the Lord can help with a person's every other problem (whether substance abuse, marriage problems, personality problems, or abuse of any sort). For this reason we offer pastoral counseling from a Christian perspective to complement professional counseling.

"Jesus took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows and diseases" (Isaiah 53:4, Matthew 8:17).
In imitation of our Savior, and in response to his love, Saint Mark's rejoices in serving those who are enduring physical suffering. More than anything, we look to prepare them for that life in which there is no sorrow or pain.

"We hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own
languages!" (Acts 2:11) That was the wondrous reaction of
those who heard the apostles on the first Pentecost. That's also
what Saint Mark's (originally Sankt Markus Evangelische
Lutherische Gemeinde) has offered to German-speaking people for nearly 150 years.
Presently our efforts in German consist primarily of special
services in our sanctuary on 10 AM every Christmas Eve and 10 AM
every Good Friday. The German liturgy, German hymns, German
readings, and German prayers provide the setting in which the
German sermon is delivered. Often the service is broadcast on WTKM (104.9 FM) of Hartford, Wisconsin, later in the afternoon.
