"St. Mark's Building Committee has a vision- a big, beautiful vision- a vision that will meet the pressing needs we face as a congregation for upgraded school facilities for our ministries at St. Mark's.

The stewardship program will be identified as "God's Plan...Transcends All Understanding.  This congregation has been faithful in meeting the challenges placed before it by the Holy Spirit.  Those challenges have included, but are not confined to, building.  To continue to fulfill the Lord's mission and ministry to this congregation and community, we are being challenged to build again."

-Quote by Pastor Werner

This Week's Message

“Jesus Christ is the atoning sacrifice for our sins …”

This week in worship brings us another often neglected, but very comforting teaching from Scripture: our need to confess our sins—and to find full pardon in Christ Jesus.

This week we will consider together 1 John 1:8 – 2:2.  The question on our minds will be: “How Do You Deal With Sin?”  We’ll note the way that non-Christians handle sin, and the very different way we Christians handle sin—with confession, forgiveness, avoidance, and proclamation.

You might also note that this Sunday’s 9 AM service will have us welcoming our new members from the past few months.

Middle School 6th & 7th graders: Don’t forget that catechism starts this Wednesday afternoon, September 3rd, from 3:45 – 5:15, downstairs in Room B-2 of our Parish Center.

Friends of prospective members: Please note that Bible Information Class begins the following Wednesday evening, September 10th, from 7:00 – 8:30 PM, also in the Parish Center Room B-2.

“… also for the sins of the whole world.”
